Group Pilates and Fitness Classes

Pilates Equipment Classes
Our equipment classes include the reformer, the tower, and the MVe Fitness chair. Pilates equipment is designed with springs, which provide variable resistance to assist with some exercises and add extra challenge to others. Training with the Pilates equipment is unique and will add a completely new dimension to your fitness program. Our equipment classes are no more than six people on reformers or towers and no more than eight people on the MVe Fitness chairs. Classes are kept small so individual attention and safety is never compromised. Equipment classes are taught at three levels »

Equipment Class Levels:

Level 1 : Foundation
Emphasizes the key principles central to all Pilates exercise. All foundation level exercises are taught with emphasis on proper form and execution of the movements. Foundation level classes are essential to prepare the student for higher level classes.

Level 2 : Intermediate
Requires competence in the foundation level principles and exercises. Level 2 training focuses on conditioning and strengthening of core and limbs as well as increasing coordination by adding a more complex series of movements.

Level 3 : Advanced
The level 3 requires a demonstrated competence in advanced Pilates movement. Exercise sessions are conducted at a rapid pace. Cardiovascular conditioning and circuit training may also be part of this training. Participants must be able to maintain an intense exercise pace.

Pilates Mat Classes
Mat classes teach the original exercises of Joseph Pilates as well as other core training exercises, sometimes utilizing props (rings, bands and balls). In mat classes, participants use their own body weight to challenge strength and balance.

P4K | P4T : Pilates For Kids and Pilates For Teens (6 Week Program)
The Pilates For Kids (P4K) amd Pilates For Teens (P4T) programs at Evolve Pilates & Fitness are designed to help children ages 7-15 years improve their health and wellness. With the increase in cuts to physical education programs in schools, Evolve Pilates believes that providing an alternative exercise program will help develop better concentration, core strength, confidence, and coordination as well as correct posture in children and teens. Kids will learn the core pilates principles and mat routines in a fun learning environment.

P4K : Tuesdays: 4:00pm-5:00pm   |   6 week program
P4T : Thursdays: 4:00pm-5:00pm   |   6 week program

Teachers : Renee Jablonski teaches P4K and Grace Lopez teaches P4T

Private Sessions

Private Pilates Session (one person)
Private Sessions are personally customized to meet individual needs. Your instructor will help develop a workout program specific to your body and your goals, selecting the exercises that will benefit you the most. Private Sessions are ideal for new clients, clients with injuries and more advanced clients looking to improve their form.

Semi-private Pilates Class (2 people)
Semi-Private sessions provide an opportunity to reduce costs while maintaining a small instructor to student ratio; these sessions are also ideal for friends or family looking to share a workout.

Gyrotonic™ Sessions
From the very first time you experience the Gyrotonic Expansion System® you quickly realize it is unlike any other exercise you have tried before. It is a truly unique exercise experience.

The Gyrotonic® method offers some of the same benefits also found in dance, gymnastics, yoga, swimming and tai chi, but is not derived from these other modalities. And it has been described by many exercise professionals as a breakthrough system for fitness and rehabilitative exercise.

Most of the exercises are performed on the Professional Pulley Tower, and the system is fully adjustable and can meet the needs of many people with varying body types and levels of strength. Unlike conventional exercise programs and their machines which utilize linear movement patterns, Gyrotonic® exercise incorporates three-dimensional circular motion to promote coordinated and efficient movement throughout the body while simultaneously strengthening the muscular attachments.

This circular approach to movement is designed to offer balanced conditioning of the body, and create synchronized strength and length while articulating the joints. The exercises are intended to be fluid and rhythmic, bridging the gap between contraction and extension. This brings balance to the musculoskeletal structure, by utilizing the natural patterns and shapes in the human body, which are comprised of circles and spirals. More is available at gyrotonic.com.

Gyrotonic and the Gyrotonic Expansion System are registered trademarks of Gyrotonic Sales Corp and are used with their permission.

Posture & Movement Assessment   |   Full Evaluation (Post-Injury)
The evaluation is a comprehensive one hour assessment with a movement and posture screening, a complete postural analysis with photos, and an assessment of balance, strength, flexibility and endurance. It's designed to assess specific issues that may be the cause of chronic pain. In addition it includes an in-depth consultation with an Evolve trainer to set specific goals and create a plan to achieve them. Note: the fitness assessment is highly recommended but not required.

Structural Therapy
Pilates helps to align the body restoring proper posture, however, sometimes the muscles and connective tissue have been in a dysfunctional state for so long it's very difficult to change the way they are holding the bones, pressing on nerves and even compressing major organs. This causes chronic pain that doesn’t seem to go away with exercise and other treatments. That's where Posturology and Neurosomatic Therapy come in.

The posturologists at Evolve Pilates treat this kind of chronic pain with Neurosomatic Therapy; a type of neuromuscular massage that works by using manual techniques to release the muscles and connective tissue that are compressing bones, nerves and organs. Neurosomatic Therapy is different from other types of massage because the therapists use a very specific assessment system that leads them right to the source of the pain. The assessment is like drawing a map of a person's entire body from the toes to the head. This enables the therapist to see the body as whole working unit.

Unlike many of today’s Physical Therapy establishments that treat only one body part at a time, Neurosomatic therapists treat the body as a whole knowing that just because the pain is in the shoulder, it doesn't necessarily mean the shoulder is the cause of the pain.

The neurosomatic therapists at Evolve Pilates will get to the source of your pain, and because they are also certified Pilates instructors, they will then help you begin your journey of realigning your body by establishing new muscle memory patterns, creating strong healthy posture, so you won’t have to spend years in the therapy room.
